Give Her a Hand

The number of fingers on one hand, that is how old Lizzy turns today.  She has been talking about her birthday for months.  The flavor of her cake, her presents, where she wants to go on her birthday date, what to eat for dinner and how old she is going to be.  I am just hoping to live up to all her excitement.  Since it is an odd birthday year, she gets to go on a birthday date with Brad and I of her choosing.  First stop, Salt City Burger for Lizzy’s favorite food – hamburgers BUT when she ordered she surprised us by getting a grilled cheese sandwich.  Afterwards we headed to Boondocks for some family fun.
The only game we could not pry her from was the GIANT crane.  We tried to convince her otherwise but after her first attempt she was hooked.  Lizzy was close on a couple of occasions of nabbing the elusive stuffed animal and by her fifth try (and $8 later) she won the coveted salamander.  She named him Limey.
The last stop was the bumper boats.  I was the official photographer while Brad braved the world of uninhibited children and water.  Brad spent most of his time like this:

 and like this:
He was the perfect height for a constant stream of water to hit its mark.  Lizzy, on the other hand, was too short for Brad’s water gun to make contact.  It was a hilarious sight!

We had great time with our one and only girl.
 Happy Birthday Elizabeth Jane Clark!
