A Month in the Life of the Clarks

I still struggle with updating my blog frequently and as a result I have a month worth of activities to post.  Beginning with Lizzy's first dance performance of the year.  She performed at Davis County Convention Center as Snow White.  

Poppy and Grandma joined us as we watched Will's 1st grade dance informance.  It was Swimmy meets the Beatles and Will was a swordfish.  Each class had a different color tie-dye shirt.    

 For our sister-in-law playgroup in May we ventured out to Wheeler Farm.  My first time ever going to view the animals.  We even spotted Superman watching over the ducks :)   

 Lizzy graduated from preschool.  The skirt she is wearing (Olivia the Pig) was made by her preschool teacher, Miss Mikel.  She also is sporting a shorter hairdo.

 Brad and I spent date night at Capitol Theater enjoying the music of Les Miserbales - one of my favorite shows!   

Next post, our trip to Vegas to celebrate our 10th anniversary.  Has it already been 10 years? My how time flies!

GATOR

 Since Brad grew up in Florida and is passionate about his football, he wanted to name our first born Gator.  Luckily, I convinced him that naming a child Gator would not make as much sense living in Utah.  Seagull, bee or Ute would be more appropriate.  Instead Gator is used as a nickname for Brad at work and by those in our neighborhood and Will is now known as Little Gator.  When Brad arrived at work on Friday, sitting on his desk was a gator cake.  This cake took two days to make - not by me but by a kind paralegal. It tastes as good as it looks, I should know.  Happy Birthday Gator!  

Wicked

My Mother's Day weekend consisted of:

A 10-hour roundtrip drive to Boise.

An evening spent on the BSU campus.

Watching Glinda and Elphaba in the production of Wicked.

Sleeping in until 10 a.m. in a comfy hotel bed.

Treating myself to lunch at The Cheesecake Factory.

And non-stop conversation with my great friend and sister-in-law, Erin.

We had a fabulous time and made some great memories!!

Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is an important holiday around our house. We celebrate every year as a family, not because our roots are from Mexico but because it is Will's birthday. This year he turned 7 and we had a two day celebration. On odd number birthdays Brad and I take the birthday child out and leave the rest of the kids home to fend for themselves. Will chose to celebrate his birthday date at Boondocks.

We ate pizza, got wet on the bumper boats, drove like mad around the racetrack and watched those little tickets spit out of the game machines. Will was in heaven. Two years ago Brad and I decorated Will's room with streamers. Now every year he expects his room to be decorated for his birthday. How come kids have the best memories??
The day of his birthday Will was showered with cards at school, won his soccer game, fed his favorite meal and granted a little extra time before bed.
Of course his birthday is not complete without something related to the Utes. A little lop-sided but not to shabby when you have a 3 year-old breathing down your neck and a two year-old wrapped around your legs. Happy Birthday to a kind-hearted, talented, smart, active, happy kid!!
