What Happened to Spring?

I return home from sunny, warm weather in St. George to 6 inches of snow. I thought we were past this thing called winter. I was looking forward to flip flops, capris and outdoor play. I guess I need to pull out the sweaters I just packed away - bummer!

Happy Belated Easter

I am only a couple of days late wishing everyone a Happy Easter. We celebrated Easter with 2 Easter egg hunts and now have enough candy to last until Halloween. Once Lizzy discovered there was candy inside her first egg she sat down to eat it immediately giving Will the opportunity to collect all the eggs. Later in the afternoon we went to Grandpa and Grandma Clarks for another Easter Egg Hunt and Easter dinner. The kids had a great time with their cousins and everyone had a fabulous Easter.

It Has Been A Great Run

The run as National Champions is officially over. The two-time defending champion Florida Gator Basketball team takes the court tonight in the NIT. It was certainly fun the last two years. Although this year was a disappointment, our heads are held high. We do not take for granted this historic run (which includes the 2006 Football Championship) and realize that this has been a once in a lifetime experience. As our good friends down in Gainesville (now unofficially Titletown) like to say, “It’s Great To Be A Florida Gator”. We will continue to proudly wear our Orange and Blue because “If you’re not a Gator, you're Gator Bait.”

One of These Things is Not Like the Other....

Can you tell which child is not like the others?

It may be hard to see from this picture but we have a "blue-eye surprise", as Brad likes to call him. Willy and Lizzy are the only true brown eyed grandchildren out of 19 on my side of the family. I had given up hope that I would get a blue eyed child and resorted to the fact that Brad's genes were dominant. Now I have a blue eyed buddy!!

Moving On

There is not much going on with the Clark family but I felt it was time to move past the 60's. Here is the latest update. Brad has started the tedious work of pulling out all the spider bushes that take up 1/3 of our backyard. In the process has come across numerous souvenirs left behind by the old owners. I was called as first counselor in the Primary Presidency and was given the daunting task of planning the primary program - yes, I am already stressing about it. Will has become our social butterfly since the weather has turned warmer and frequently visits our neighbors on his scooter. He told me it is his "duty" to be nice to others. Lizzy has finally entered nursery and made our Sundays much easier. She babbles constantly and always has a good story to tell. Matthew has become a different baby overnight. I think we are finally past the colicky stage and enjoying our happy baby.

Remodeling the 60's

As many of you know, we bought a house in Bountiful that was built in 1961. We loved the area and the yard but the inside of the house was less than appealing. Luckily, we had vision and we were able to see past the linoleum, wallpapered walls and wood paneling. Brad and his dad worked daily for 2 1/2 months to update our home. Many times Brad worked well past midnight and then would get up the next morning to go to work. I was a single mom during this time but in the end everything was well worth it. I have attached some before and after pictures to show the sweat and blood Brad put into our home. Thanks Brad for working so hard for our fam!! Next step, decorating and tackling the purple and green walls in the basement.

Matthew's Blessing

This past week we have been getting ready for Matty's blessing. Brad has diligently worked on the house so it would be ready to hold 60+ people. He painted walls, changed outlets, stained handrails, put up blinds and finished the trim work for our upstairs after a 3 month hiatus, which he greatly deserved. I was in charge of the food and thanks to my mom, generous family and friends and Costco there was enough food to feed a village. Brad gave Matthew an amazing blessing and we are so lucky to have this little spirit in our home. Thanks to everyone who participated in this wonderful day!!
